As well as all other hot melt equipment, are prone to product build-up. It’s important to make sure that glue isn’t being over-heated, which leads to premature aging of the adhesive causing blockages. If this isn’t monitored, we often see equipment completed caked in degraded, tough-to-remove glue.
If this is what the outside of the mini gun looks like, can you imagine what the inside looks like?
There are all sorts of problems that can cause this, but all possibilities are directly linked to the glue being over-heated. The degraded adhesive then begins to build up inside the module, and as the gun continues to heat it just gets worse. This leads to blockages and, eventually, overspill of glue out of the modules and into the gun body.
Ideally, the situation would be noticed before it gets to this point. It’s crucial to monitor the temperature of your equipment and always make use of standby options.
Thankfully we restored this mini glue gun to its former glory as you can see in the image below!
